Docspace Curated
Programmes & Metacinema Docspace is committed to bringing documentaries to new audiences. We work with a variety of venues: traditional cinemas, arts and media centres, film societies and schools. Our new mobile digital cinema system means that screenings can take place in virtually any environment - indoors or outdoors. Curated seasons have included four seasons of features
and shorts for cinemas: Nobel Peace Season, "its time we roused
ourselves and made a difference" (Richard Holloway) which marked
the launch of the Nobel Peace Institute in Oslo, Norway. Twenty-To-One - Films for
a Greener Future (July 2005) - Cinema and Spirituality Screening work by film-makers as diverse as Marcus Coates
(contemporary artist) and Peter Davies (seminal documentarian), these
curated programmes have been structured to allow in-depth audience response.
The response has been overwhelmingly positive: "I loved the choice of films. I got a lot of
ideas. Working in the front line of commercial interests vs indigenous
rights as I do, I need the energy, the tools, and the history that this
workshop offered." See news for the next Metacinema screenings. |
